Nada Germany regrets Berlinger announcement

March 10, 2018

The National Anti Doping Agency of Germany (NADA) regrets the announcement of the Swiss company Berlinger Special AG to withdraw from the anti-doping business in the short to medium term.

For years, Berlinger has been the leading manufacturer of doping control equipment that reliably meets the requirements of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). The sudden retreat leaves a big gap, which should be closed quickly.

WADA has published initial information on how to proceed. NADA Germany will be looking for a new manufacturer as soon as possible. Until then, the foundation will use the remaining material "BEREG-KIT". As far as the use of the "BEREG-KITS Geneva" will be required, NADA Germany, together with the WADA-accredited laboratories in Cologne and Kreischa and it's testing partners increased quality assurance measures.

"Maintaining the doping control system and the integrity of all related processes is a top priority for NADA Germany", said NADA Germany CEO, Dr. Andrea Gotzmann.
