Canadian wins against CCES Cost Decision AppealFebruary 22, 2019
The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) appealed the decision by Arbitrator Bennett where the athlete used an expert in order to obtain a reduced sanction.
The athlete had a cost of $1000 in order to get a reduced sanction. She still has to pay $27.120 in legal fees in a case where she was imposed a 12-month suspension.
When rendering the Cost Decision, Arbitrator Bennett awarded the Respondent the witness fee. This was later appealed by CCES.
