WADA Rules Out Caffeine Ban

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has decided to leave caffeine off its list of banned substances.

While WADA's executive committee meets in Canada next week,. it has already decided to not to add caffeine on its list of banned substances. However, WADA president Dick Pound says the organization is keeping a close eye on the level of caffeine use. "It [caffeine] was taken off the list last year, but we're not sure whether it should remain off and we're continuing to monitor that," he said. Many athletes in various disciplines claim a performance gain by using caffeine tablets.
