About The Anti-Doping Database

July 05, 2016

The Anti-Doping Database (ADDB) is an online tool for professionals researching doping in sport.

The database contains information about athletes who has been sanctioned for an anti-doping rule violation.

Sources

Our sources are National Anti-Doping Agencies (NADA), International Sports Federations (ISF), National Sports Federations (NSF) and also News websites.

Thanks to support we are adding more and more information to the database.

Because we are using mainly Online sources and do not get information regarding all suspensions, the ADDB will never be a database where you can see the total status for the anti-doping situation in sports.
There are many reasons for this: (1) Sports Organizations may have privacy rules or have to follow national privacy laws which stopping them from publicly disclosing information.

Our criteria

Our criteria has been that we add cases where we know which prohibited substance the athlete has tested positive for. Because of this we have not been able to add cases from quite a few sports and countries.
We are how ever in contact with IFs, NADOs and national federations or national sports bodies to receive this information.
